COVID Protocols - Updated Sept. 20, 2021 - Effective Sept. 21, 2021

COVID Protocols - Updated Sept. 16, 2021

September 20, 2021  5:00 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, the bus routes driven by Gary and Pepper will not be operating the remainder of this week, September 21-24. I apologize for the inconvenience that this creates. I am unable to find enough substitute bus drivers to make this work. If parents are able to get students to and from school, please do so. I encourage people to explore carpooling opportunities amongst parents.  This situation will be reevaluated prior to Monday, September 27, 2021 and that information will be shared via the school website and Infinite Campus messenger.

Sincerely

Loren Dunk

The number of students who have tested positive with COVID-19 in the 4-5 combined class continues to increase. At this point contract tracing for those cases would essentially involve the entire class. This class will be in remote learning for the week of September 20-24. Parents will be contacted via email from Ms. Hilbig prior to Monday with information regarding the remote learning schedule and structure of classes. It will be best if students can take needed materials home with them today including their chromebook. If you have any questions regarding this decision, please contact Mr. Dunk.

A special board meeting has been called for Monday, Sep 20, 2021 at 7 p.m. to be held in the school gym. The only item on the agenda will be the school’s COVID operating plan and procedures - a decision on a mask requirement in school will be made. All meetings are open to the public and anyone who wishes to speak on this action item, will have an opportunity to do so.

The school has a positive COVID-19 case in the elementary school. Teton County Health has been notified. Contact tracing has been completed and students and families have been notified. Students are in quarantine. No classes or teams need to be quarantined at this time. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are canceling jr. high volleyball practices until Monday, September 20, 2021. There were not any games taking place during this time.

COVID Precautions Sept. 15, 2021

September 14, 2021

There is a positive COVID-19 case in the high school. Contact tracing has been completed. Close contacts will receive further instructions from the Teton County Health Department. Parents of close contacts have received an email from the school. High school volleyball is canceled until Monday, September 20, 2021. I can’t stress this enough, please do not come to school if you are obviously sick. If you are even the slightest bit sick and are at school, please wear a mask at all times.  Additionally, the school can administer a rapid test for COVID in symptomatic students. The parental consent form needs to be signed before testing. Testing can help prevent additional exposure. All of these steps can help our school continue to operate with in-person learning.

9-6-21

There is a positive COVID case in the school and contact tracing has been completed to the extent possible and those people are staying home from school. I remind people to please keep your student at home if he or she is showing symptoms of sickness. If one has even a slight suspicion that he or she is sick, please get tested. It helps to guide decision making. If you are not feeling well even in the slightest, please wear a mask when around others. All of these precautions can help to protect others and keep us operating in person. We need to realize this is becoming a fact of life and act accordingly.
